Pictures of things I like

I was going through some files on my computer and ran across some pictures of things I had saved when an online group was playing "post how you'd decorate your dream house".  Yes, we're bored women.  So what.  Anyhoo...

I love this chair.  I know it isn't girly and I am kind of girly, but I would so grab a throw and a book (or my iPhone and the Kindle app) and read...and nap.

Look at the detail on that baby!!  I love the fiddle-neck detail within the fiddle-neck detail.  Aaaaahhhh!!

And look at this table - does it remind you of a post from a few days ago?  Sigh.

I kinda sorta like this kitchen.  My own kitchen is ridiculous.  It has ugly white tile with ugly brown grout (hello, 1985!), not nearly enough cabinet space, you can't open the oven door and the fridge at the same time or you'll be either burned or chilled on your posterior.  Oh, and the bar with the stove in it?  It's at an odd angle.  Sort of like a 38 degree angle.   Really, I mean it, it's ODD.

I probably wouldn't paint this yellow, though, and the counters would be a little darker, but I love the details in this.  So pretty.  Oh!  Another kitchen!  This one is a little darker and probably closer to what I would have, you know, if I had money.  I think I would keep the bar stools from the first kitchen, though.

My bedroom is not huge.  My former bedroom was, and it had a walk-in closet.  It's the only thing I miss about that house.  But my current bedroom, meh.  Plus, it faces the driveway.  Tell me that's not a little unnerving! Now this, this is what I'm talking about.

Living rooms.  I am never happy with my living room.  It's big, but laid out a little weird.  There is no actual solid wall.  Isn't that odd?  I refuse to get rid of my antique upright grand piano (I keep thinking that some day I will actually learn to play), we have a monstrous sofa that seats 8 (remember, I do lots of entertaining), and the behemoth TV.  Oh, and my treadmill and sewing table.  See my problem?  That's neither here nor there.  This is the sort of living room I'd like to have.

I love built-ins.  And texture.  I LOVE texture!!
